          Athlete的故事，始于歌手兼结它手Joel Pott、低音结它手Carey Willetts和鼓手Steve Roberts这三位在十四岁于足球场结识的朋友。在九十年代末，当他们二十出头的时候，三人走在一起组成了首队乐队，并踏足Camden一带演出，希望成为新Oasis是他们的目标。
　　　Athlete笔下的歌曲，有着是Steely Dan般的长青美好调子，但演绎出来却有如Pavement那样的古怪流行曲架构与主唱；来得听似一首传统的结他流行曲，但个中却又穿插着Tim的Synth演奏与声效，甚至是鼓机节拍，Athlete的音乐便是这样典型得来却又有点不寻常。
　　　在四人的合作上，它们所强调的是彼此之整体性，所有作品都是共同的结晶。Carey说：“我们以乐队的姿态一起写出所有歌曲，Athlete不是只由一人带着一首完成了的歌进入录音室然后拿着结他弹给队友听的那种乐队，而是关于我们四人一同在实验。”所以在《Vehicles & Animals》的唱片封套内，你不会找到个别成员的名字，因为Athlete就是一个整体。

恩，这首是英式摇滚。。
英式挺多都挺好听的
比较典型的英式乐队还有radiohead乐队，coldplay乐队，keane乐队等
