Janis Joplin不像Patti Smith那样镇静地看着痛苦从内心流过，Janis Joplin在激流的推动下爆发人生最有力的呼喊。她的目标是模糊的。这也是整个六十年代迷幻运动迷人的特征。Janis Joplin的音乐简直是苦恋与沉痛的的宣言，她太不懂得克制了，她也太不懂让喘息来保护自己了。或者说，Janis Joplin彻底地暴露着她决不回顾的情绪，以至于我们不忍心目睹一个二十几岁的少女走向辉煌又悲壮的终极。Janis Joplin永远是一个值得别人爱抚的少女，包括她27岁那年最后离开人世的瞬间。
《Cheap Thrills》就这样充满了伟大的激情所引起的震颤。也许，每个人都有自己的缺陷，但Janis Joplin至少让我们明白缺陷在梦的护送下是美丽的。她耽于每一根神经的颤动而根本不理会是否能到达天国，Janis Joplin短暂的一生走着一条走不通的路，她为自己描绘了煎熬的人生，象美丽的困兽在挣扎的边缘狂喜或者痛苦。
这是一个经常彻夜不眠的人，她熬到了天明还是熬到了黄昏，她逃出了恶梦逃离了醒来的清醒，她终于走了。
