It establishes clear expectations and communication, and it providesmeasurable outcomes on which to objectively evaluate performance.
Performance management is a planning tool forthe Next Horizon and for your personal career objectives.
Next Horizon is committed to this process,and expects you to be personally committed as well.Toreach maximum effectiveness, this needs to be a two-way process.
An ongoing discussion between manager andemployee – a daily dialogue that should be formalized at specific times of theyear.
You are encouraged to discussexpectations, performance, goals, and the progress towards these goals asneeded.
There should be no surprisesduring a formal performance evaluation.
Next Horizon formalizes this process with a ProbationPerformance Review by the end of employees’ probation period, a Mid-YearPerformance Review in October and an Annual Performance Review in April. Purpose of Performance Review:ThePerformance Review is a component of the overall performance managementprocess.
It should typically proceedsthe following outcomes:·
Provides a formal means of constructive, openand honest communication between the employee and his or her supervisor; ·
Enables managers to be employee champions bysetting clear expectations, coaching, and helping to develop their employees;·
Enhances employee development throughperformance feedback and through the identification of future professionaldevelopment activities; ·
Identifies training and development needs inorder to help individuals grow and to sustain/improve organizational capability;·
Measures and documents job performance as abasis for making promotion, compensation and other personnel managementdecisions;·
