Wanted: College sophomores, seniors, graduate students, teachers, and , k. p2 f5 ^4 l7 W
retired teachers who are native English speakers. Teachers, college students 3 p6 A5 j- r1 Q" a
already in China are also welcomed. Preferably with background in education, 7 H& g( j# S: J1 {! L3 e- C4 j
language, literature, etc.
7 x. W" p" s/ S& LWhat You Need To do: Lead English Camp in China
/ e$ [! h% ?' Z: \What You Get: Stipend, room and board, transportation.

0 [" j$ g5 P. f! S P" u! SWe are organizing an innovative activity for kids in China: a large-scale % ]1 ], q: ?% _, ~
summer camp for learning English using phonics. Here is summary of what is 8 `" m9 a5 q+ w$ q" Z
going to happen at the Camp:4 u( B% u: v$ _/ e
, S0 o7 ~& [, I$ \8 ]# D
1. The Camp will host up to 1000 students ranging from age 8 to age 16,
, i/ a, a; x" \4 A U8 I1 `mostly from Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province, but some from other areas in # ^- k# G6 ]6 `& e
China. Campers will live in the Camp for 21 days. The camp is planned to be
& h7 q0 k) L) O- k3 J8 H" |from July 17, 2005 through August 6, 2005.

/ T$ W! ?9 u; r& z- _2. We invite you from English speaking nations to act as team leaders and
- k1 v {$ n: P) o* |# |4 ututors for these kids.& l$ L2 |. t" |4 P

3. Tutors will organize and direct kids to learn English language by
1 Z5 l. I _2 X7 u+ O- Ppracticing phonics etc. Tutors will help organize all possible activities 8 E9 C* ~' _4 z, G6 {- ]" @
like story telling, poetry, discussions of their colleges, and outdoor 6 x+ v& s) j: ^
activities…

' C, p! W; [1 I- o8 T" GThe location of the Camp will be a nice hot spring resort in Qingyuan, north / L1 T, h0 [; u( T, i1 G
of Guangzhou. The International Culture Exchange Center of the Guangzhou
& r S- C# P6 W0 i0 cMunicipal Government will oversee and advise the camp activities. All 8 y7 b7 C4 U* e' ~6 E- d% Y
necessary procedures and measures will be taken to protect the safety of the 3 X% M1 `: ^2 ~. n4 i, X5 p
camp and the health of the participants.

We are now inviting native English speakers such as students from colleges
5 L# j7 I' @. y- |6 c7 X. Y9 E* k5 u1 Upreferably at 3rd and 4th year and graduate level, and teachers or retired
R- I: W. t8 W& n4 W" N0 Wteachers with majors in performing arts, education, language, and other
5 n' \7 P$ F8 O, whumanities to help us with this event as group leaders and tutors. This is a
: U, Q" E; R$ Z# Nlow-budget event, but we will cover expenses of room and board, plus some
: F. e4 Y( I6 @4 S4 V( vnominal compensation(includ round-trip transportation, local
( d/ N$ e5 L0 c& R0 f$ Y2 k' htransportation,etc).
