language, literature, etc.

We are organizing an innovative activity for kids in China: a large-scale
3 k/ u$ d7 z6 j; ?2 u: k0 vsummer camp for learning English using phonics. Here is summary of what is / M# y+ P P: }$ u5 B
going to happen at the Camp:
" {4 ~$ h; h6 }0 @* h6 B
3 ^# d3 n7 W% u, z2 x1. The Camp will host up to 1000 students ranging from age 8 to age 16,
/ X, D+ Q, c5 a6 Gmostly from Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province, but some from other areas in : |) i( r4 { j8 Z- c
China. Campers will live in the Camp for 21 days. The camp is planned to be
1 `0 w9 M9 C Z: v% `from July 17, 2005 through August 6, 2005.

1 r9 x: F3 t6 f3 T+ n2. We invite you from English speaking nations to act as team leaders and 9 ~& g* b1 p, Z$ u. ^, {/ Y- {4 J
tutors for these kids.2 `; z' |& G' Y) ] h7 o* }; E9 c

3. Tutors will organize and direct kids to learn English language by ) U$ A( Q" n, o
practicing phonics etc. Tutors will help organize all possible activities ; M5 D9 J: G9 O* p5 x
like story telling, poetry, discussions of their colleges, and outdoor
6 Z/ N$ e; c+ e, eactivities…

The location of the Camp will be a nice hot spring resort in Qingyuan, north / F$ G5 W2 c5 I
of Guangzhou. The International Culture Exchange Center of the Guangzhou
4 J) S: l( @+ p+ fMunicipal Government will oversee and advise the camp activities. All 6 l R; q$ Q1 C# p, w
necessary procedures and measures will be taken to protect the safety of the . h! b$ f3 A4 O+ A! `
camp and the health of the participants.3 I7 C3 g3 d! u) d+ H$ r
: L1 c; P; T& MWe are now inviting native English speakers such as students from colleges
5 l1 q O F0 n1 S/ B( e) w Ppreferably at 3rd and 4th year and graduate level, and teachers or retired
5 e6 b& _2 M% Z3 `2 D5 ]teachers with majors in performing arts, education, language, and other
, p: ]! W3 r& G- y2 ]+ Nhumanities to help us with this event as group leaders and tutors. This is a % s- y. |1 }1 a c* U4 n
low-budget event, but we will cover expenses of room and board, plus some
' L* ^; G# W# B5 J8 i% z6 Nnominal compensation(includ round-trip transportation, local
' J% @* J* w+ D" s G8 [; _+ A Otransportation,etc).
