already in China are also welcomed. Preferably with background in education,

We are organizing an innovative activity for kids in China: a large-scale
( K4 v8 y& D6 x. [summer camp for learning English using phonics. Here is summary of what is 4 G' B5 N2 \ U" ]
going to happen at the Camp:
( s8 K' I5 z- h: L" s2 ^; [3 k# G% a2 D, O: j3 ~
1. The Camp will host up to 1000 students ranging from age 8 to age 16,
p. I4 o% C, F2 Y8 u: W6 Omostly from Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province, but some from other areas in 7 Z3 o0 l0 D6 E; [, M( q
China. Campers will live in the Camp for 21 days. The camp is planned to be
" g7 J. w6 S5 M9 X9 p4 Ufrom July 17, 2005 through August 6, 2005.+ K( R3 R8 j, g1 ^6 ^5 j
" ~7 W& I: n2 A- ]; ?8 v& d& R
2. We invite you from English speaking nations to act as team leaders and
" m8 {' ^( B# d2 Ututors for these kids.
. o; A1 u ?% c8 p2 W* ~' t# Q2 s5 V! e$ `/ l
3. Tutors will organize and direct kids to learn English language by / N+ }6 X& A- S9 @& e0 q
practicing phonics etc. Tutors will help organize all possible activities M& M4 w2 W) R. r& e
like story telling, poetry, discussions of their colleges, and outdoor ; o, @3 ^1 }5 Z* ^

The location of the Camp will be a nice hot spring resort in Qingyuan, north # |% A% N" x( u9 G$ L5 w, a+ _
of Guangzhou. The International Culture Exchange Center of the Guangzhou
; T% m; {# B2 s# ]% ZMunicipal Government will oversee and advise the camp activities. All * o) f# ^, G5 J
necessary procedures and measures will be taken to protect the safety of the 9 S2 s% V. g" W/ V6 w" \
camp and the health of the participants./ [1 B/ t- Q) I3 C& L
+ `% i5 W" l, `1 s% G8 F
We are now inviting native English speakers such as students from colleges
) H& r# H0 y$ a/ N3 v+ Z- ~7 apreferably at 3rd and 4th year and graduate level, and teachers or retired " ]! t. d* I+ i( |3 p! b
teachers with majors in performing arts, education, language, and other
& t/ }( E \% N, e4 g2 @humanities to help us with this event as group leaders and tutors. This is a 3 S$ G0 m6 @& F2 x$ M% c* {6 X
low-budget event, but we will cover expenses of room and board, plus some
% y# d% a3 \/ enominal compensation(includ round-trip transportation, local
8 z5 e7 a* D B* f5 _transportation,etc).
