Wanted: College sophomores, seniors, graduate students, teachers, and " ]* `6 e" g" Z& _( _2 d* K, c
retired teachers who are native English speakers. Teachers, college students
, o- X- L- h% [: {! Balready in China are also welcomed. Preferably with background in education,

" [- E: B6 W+ ~- {* D, G$ u- ~& UWe are organizing an innovative activity for kids in China: a large-scale
& M' g E) B6 u9 s& ~9 \summer camp for learning English using phonics. Here is summary of what is
' m1 [. M, A+ _) S" j% igoing to happen at the Camp:& w: R8 l% ~0 d& `* Q4 }
) \* v; g! v. `; Q" T& ~; J
1. The Camp will host up to 1000 students ranging from age 8 to age 16,
2 {8 C- d! w# e q7 p1 v0 d8 a& w, ]mostly from Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province, but some from other areas in
) A {. G0 q/ c4 m) v2 JChina. Campers will live in the Camp for 21 days. The camp is planned to be ! a% ^0 s1 e% l
from July 17, 2005 through August 6, 2005.

2. We invite you from English speaking nations to act as team leaders and 3 B- C$ @% [$ P8 w
tutors for these kids.

' p6 ]& p1 s9 f" }4 M3. Tutors will organize and direct kids to learn English language by / B) k. w( |2 b
practicing phonics etc. Tutors will help organize all possible activities / w9 d, n" ]! m6 e" G8 `3 ]
like story telling, poetry, discussions of their colleges, and outdoor F4 k+ e$ K O9 t* s' K
activities…

The location of the Camp will be a nice hot spring resort in Qingyuan, north 6 l E/ e- I5 T5 G3 F8 {
of Guangzhou. The International Culture Exchange Center of the Guangzhou
" j" k) x# t9 o7 U, h6 sMunicipal Government will oversee and advise the camp activities. All
6 q2 D4 o# G) Bnecessary procedures and measures will be taken to protect the safety of the 8 G* A* I3 e* N
camp and the health of the participants.

We are now inviting native English speakers such as students from colleges
- Y' o$ A( G1 ?7 ^" J! K7 upreferably at 3rd and 4th year and graduate level, and teachers or retired & j0 K( N" u% G- M- Y6 b
teachers with majors in performing arts, education, language, and other
- w( j7 I$ }. T9 a' Ghumanities to help us with this event as group leaders and tutors. This is a

nominal compensation(includ round-trip transportation, local
