retired teachers who are native English speakers. Teachers, college students

We are organizing an innovative activity for kids in China: a large-scale
+ @1 k% P4 j+ y( \( [* Ssummer camp for learning English using phonics. Here is summary of what is
9 Q( X$ `# \) S: x; M: h: Xgoing to happen at the Camp:! \" a) R& Z: Y& C3 `* P
7 w: E1 l! z) O! Y" E _- Q" P1. The Camp will host up to 1000 students ranging from age 8 to age 16, $ M) J6 k+ K; \* k2 r* V7 ]
mostly from Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province, but some from other areas in
5 A! j) M0 i7 i( SChina. Campers will live in the Camp for 21 days. The camp is planned to be
* h+ w) N5 G1 \! l" Ufrom July 17, 2005 through August 6, 2005.

2 V* `# w @# X1 C1 X1 D2. We invite you from English speaking nations to act as team leaders and 0 y3 h" r1 i; q, b k+ ~6 j0 X
tutors for these kids.

+ h: [6 ?, _* _+ A; I3. Tutors will organize and direct kids to learn English language by
$ G% A; q) \& {practicing phonics etc. Tutors will help organize all possible activities 0 U9 f W: ~! z5 C. b
like story telling, poetry, discussions of their colleges, and outdoor % W8 c) Y: z8 ~
activities…

! o/ j% q, t3 x# xThe location of the Camp will be a nice hot spring resort in Qingyuan, north 2 l9 @8 H; g2 y- X
of Guangzhou. The International Culture Exchange Center of the Guangzhou , M7 w/ ^' T! L6 I
Municipal Government will oversee and advise the camp activities. All / n) w: F5 x( q3 `5 \
necessary procedures and measures will be taken to protect the safety of the

We are now inviting native English speakers such as students from colleges
; a* Z. H7 h" i2 S: |3 H7 Mpreferably at 3rd and 4th year and graduate level, and teachers or retired
" o1 J# Z# o# m4 n( \, j/ N* e0 nteachers with majors in performing arts, education, language, and other
0 S) O) h/ W3 _- N8 c' rhumanities to help us with this event as group leaders and tutors. This is a - y f! R( {1 I5 t
low-budget event, but we will cover expenses of room and board, plus some 2 q: ~! }! e! B* E6 [9 o; k. \
