Guangdong University of Technology (GDUT) was established in June 1995 under approval by the State Education Commission and through combination of Guangdong Institute ofTechnology, Guangdong Mechanical College and South China Construction College (East Campus).
The university has a history of nearly 50 years. It is a multidisciplinary insititution offering a wide range of courses in engineering, science, technology, management, liberal arts and law, with major emphasis on the study of engineering.
GDUT is a provincial key university. It has 6 campuses, covering an area of 230 hectares. The main campus is located at 729 Dongfeng Dong Road, Guangzhou, China.
Guangdong University of Technology is privileged to confer Doctor' s, Master' s, and Bachelor' s degrees on qualified students. At present the university has 5 doctoral degree programs, 31 master degree programs(including MBA program), 52 bachelor degree programs.
There are more than 2,300 teaching and administrative staff members in the university. The number of full time teacher is nearly 1,200, among them more than 110 are professors, and more than 350 are associate professors.
The university has 16 faculties and schools. At present, full-time student population is more than 31,000, mature learner population is nearly 17,000. Guangdong University of Technology enrolls foreign students in different specialties on different levels.
The university has established 9 provincial level key subjects, 2 provincial level key labs and 6 provincial famous specialties. 24 courses were selected as provincial key courses. Moreover, several centers, such as the Network Center, the Computing Center, the Audio-visual Education Center, the Analytic Testing Center, the Modern Processing Center and the Center for Metal Processing Fieldwork, were also established. For years, the university has undertaken a large number of research projects from the state, provinces, municipalities and enterprises and has obtained a number of important achievements.
The library houses over 1,600,000 volumes of books and 9,000 sets of electronic literature.
Guangdong University of Technology has established academic exchanges and cooperation with more than 40 foreign universities and research institutions in the United States, United Kingdom, Germany, Russia, Poland, Thailand, Australia etc. |
