Wanted: College sophomores, seniors, graduate students, teachers, and
& P: O0 X6 l* C+ F+ V* u$ y6 hretired teachers who are native English speakers. Teachers, college students ; _+ f) j/ B4 d# g9 {% V" V6 A' \
already in China are also welcomed. Preferably with background in education,

What You Need To do: Lead English Camp in China
0 d. ^4 P! u$ V8 R) B8 Y" lWhat You Get: Stipend, room and board, transportation.

9 C6 X3 k1 ~# n' W. T( r$ ?0 xWe are organizing an innovative activity for kids in China: a large-scale 9 n, m* H. [+ Q: ~* r, _/ C
summer camp for learning English using phonics. Here is summary of what is 5 }2 o! f+ {* Y. C% b
going to happen at the Camp:
! ~4 d2 i+ }% @+ y2 ~% G: q( }& B6 ^- l8 i) m4 E) }
1. The Camp will host up to 1000 students ranging from age 8 to age 16,
8 T4 J5 e5 h9 [7 ^! ~mostly from Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province, but some from other areas in 5 d l$ n% C$ d/ ^5 y1 q
China. Campers will live in the Camp for 21 days. The camp is planned to be % P& l( W. L# i0 L) h7 G
from July 17, 2005 through August 6, 2005." X& N! w2 A4 B1 _

2. We invite you from English speaking nations to act as team leaders and
) l3 _3 y4 ~1 e! Y; G9 Ytutors for these kids.( ?' A$ k9 J9 }# k

3. Tutors will organize and direct kids to learn English language by 5 Z+ d5 C: {4 G- \0 I3 I1 K
practicing phonics etc. Tutors will help organize all possible activities 5 C5 U4 q2 ~9 E3 T$ U' X
like story telling, poetry, discussions of their colleges, and outdoor ; b9 _0 F q3 X8 ]

The location of the Camp will be a nice hot spring resort in Qingyuan, north
5 _4 l7 H5 |1 c3 f2 x& Iof Guangzhou. The International Culture Exchange Center of the Guangzhou
* [$ I# f$ O8 @) c! Y8 O9 E% c5 TMunicipal Government will oversee and advise the camp activities. All
6 u: M2 P+ @/ T# lnecessary procedures and measures will be taken to protect the safety of the & l I1 D& i# x) _, [4 h% _# ?
camp and the health of the participants.

p7 i+ T4 ], I7 `! [3 C/ B( D; \" @We are now inviting native English speakers such as students from colleges $ `2 u3 z: n9 V) N( T0 T$ e2 W
preferably at 3rd and 4th year and graduate level, and teachers or retired
4 j2 r8 {; c6 V4 j* V: y& R) i' B4 v8 A& Hteachers with majors in performing arts, education, language, and other o8 \, l8 I% Q" d2 g, |- ?
humanities to help us with this event as group leaders and tutors. This is a ' C& e( F- Z2 Q" W: n
low-budget event, but we will cover expenses of room and board, plus some
& C. d# g( u$ W& N, ?( @7 vnominal compensation(includ round-trip transportation, local
+ @' w: c, ?8 T X+ dtransportation,etc). 1 d* R/ O/ ^5 G/ P- v2 ?
