Tutors wanted for an English Summer Camp in Guangzhou) h6 Z( q' N v$ T, _$ I9 c/ n: I
+ T) p6 e$ R6 J$ sWanted: College sophomores, seniors, graduate students, teachers, and 5 g; p/ |+ Z9 s# U
retired teachers who are native English speakers. Teachers, college students 3 n1 |2 Z/ H! `! w6 _. t" S
already in China are also welcomed. Preferably with background in education, % m% W6 i- w( W
language, literature, etc.9 o* n: @$ a( T. r( w0 C
What You Need To do: Lead English Camp in China2 k0 E1 g0 d. d4 G& z6 w; W/ J
What You Get: Stipend, room and board, transportation.& m: X0 E9 D& H$ {6 e
, j% @* p% T5 W0 B5 m/ R4 O6 K/ |We are organizing an innovative activity for kids in China: a large-scale
/ {3 L G. \/ j9 h& W: W; \& asummer camp for learning English using phonics. Here is summary of what is
8 O2 f( G1 _- b$ \( m; `going to happen at the Camp:

1. The Camp will host up to 1000 students ranging from age 8 to age 16, $ ]3 v) L; s- `8 o
mostly from Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province, but some from other areas in 7 @8 R5 i- }6 k* K
China. Campers will live in the Camp for 21 days. The camp is planned to be 3 N% k2 T5 Z9 t8 D4 W! l2 G5 w. c# C
from July 17, 2005 through August 6, 2005.

2. We invite you from English speaking nations to act as team leaders and
9 C( z+ O7 k3 ?0 w" l! b+ G! ^tutors for these kids.
. Z2 m5 P( B m5 `. v7 H# l! W) T8 f8 E/ i/ g( N
3. Tutors will organize and direct kids to learn English language by 0 E) k9 \& `8 ]3 i( s V# j! e D
practicing phonics etc. Tutors will help organize all possible activities
& X7 A2 Y# S/ z; g: Y" Glike story telling, poetry, discussions of their colleges, and outdoor ) N3 H; Z; }3 P7 g/ p/ g
activities…

The location of the Camp will be a nice hot spring resort in Qingyuan, north 7 T* t! E- k+ ?/ ^
of Guangzhou. The International Culture Exchange Center of the Guangzhou $ \! U/ B6 M7 y3 \
Municipal Government will oversee and advise the camp activities. All . R* [* @9 H/ y* o _4 h; P. a
necessary procedures and measures will be taken to protect the safety of the
, L, v- M+ w: Wcamp and the health of the participants.

u- K8 u+ \! I+ T& u0 W7 dWe are now inviting native English speakers such as students from colleges 9 L- i5 }* v3 `5 i1 W) P- H1 G Q
preferably at 3rd and 4th year and graduate level, and teachers or retired . b# S1 ]3 j/ f# T( g# @
teachers with majors in performing arts, education, language, and other 5 I- c/ ^! n3 W6 l1 i3 m
humanities to help us with this event as group leaders and tutors. This is a
9 K4 c' A& D. v: M0 o& {4 |low-budget event, but we will cover expenses of room and board, plus some
7 B. o+ A& e3 anominal compensation(includ round-trip transportation, local ( Y7 G) L( a5 N3 ]5 M2 V8 H2 J
