& t3 U, W' ^5 E) H5 X* r4 U6 a) O) Kretired teachers who are native English speakers. Teachers, college students

What You Need To do: Lead English Camp in China3 f5 s% `$ L2 o' }
What You Get: Stipend, room and board, transportation.

We are organizing an innovative activity for kids in China: a large-scale 4 m3 z1 R% G8 _" V' Q- M% f
summer camp for learning English using phonics. Here is summary of what is ! w$ t% U6 h2 t u) V" e
going to happen at the Camp:
7 R$ ^! N' `' X) h0 v) w" s# j6 [# w' Q! a$ ^/ L
1. The Camp will host up to 1000 students ranging from age 8 to age 16, 3 `. h+ r4 S3 l/ U
mostly from Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province, but some from other areas in
! C' L/ r# Q1 P6 i8 OChina. Campers will live in the Camp for 21 days. The camp is planned to be
4 A8 h& E j. P) t q3 K: u. ffrom July 17, 2005 through August 6, 2005.

) |" E6 {- e( D! E2. We invite you from English speaking nations to act as team leaders and
5 d. U h/ m1 P2 \! s; r0 e0 ktutors for these kids. T& N6 x" D4 ~* ^8 j7 z
( V* u" ]0 k8 ~- W3. Tutors will organize and direct kids to learn English language by 4 y3 Q6 w; S; B( T) K
practicing phonics etc. Tutors will help organize all possible activities & R: d8 ^# V5 k, O% w
like story telling, poetry, discussions of their colleges, and outdoor
$ ^2 l/ a4 K' m8 X0 eactivities…

- l. R1 G1 y: N7 q2 K: J$ `The location of the Camp will be a nice hot spring resort in Qingyuan, north
) c0 S, z9 s" {4 H, vof Guangzhou. The International Culture Exchange Center of the Guangzhou ' S' d5 `; H* Y& D4 K5 I
Municipal Government will oversee and advise the camp activities. All
, K9 ]) _2 C8 ]' i1 `) Jnecessary procedures and measures will be taken to protect the safety of the ) L- C# _# u7 k* W: T2 p
camp and the health of the participants.7 [- a! u7 \# r4 q! l

We are now inviting native English speakers such as students from colleges ' |1 H) S1 a: b: d* n0 M6 W! i
preferably at 3rd and 4th year and graduate level, and teachers or retired 5 m1 B4 X! M7 m S% i% ?1 b' b
teachers with majors in performing arts, education, language, and other 7 V& U/ `7 u: J3 O- S
humanities to help us with this event as group leaders and tutors. This is a 6 n& O/ E! ~% ]9 [# E( V
low-budget event, but we will cover expenses of room and board, plus some 9 H* X) a- O$ [$ s$ W+ j1 ~/ n
nominal compensation(includ round-trip transportation, local
