Tutors wanted for an English Summer Camp in Guangzhou

& q# a( I+ {8 b7 UWanted: College sophomores, seniors, graduate students, teachers, and
( F+ i, q, i% |7 z. A( ~retired teachers who are native English speakers. Teachers, college students - d1 E& B+ K/ O6 n
already in China are also welcomed. Preferably with background in education, + E/ A7 z" E8 W5 p6 S6 W' M
language, literature, etc.
( }2 T- |6 L2 [- b, @What You Need To do: Lead English Camp in China( b g: I, v3 Q) R3 @
What You Get: Stipend, room and board, transportation.

2 y0 G# J5 ?* z+ OWe are organizing an innovative activity for kids in China: a large-scale
! o- d% T% L# P: ssummer camp for learning English using phonics. Here is summary of what is 6 X8 R4 R: s2 |$ {- ~$ _1 d
going to happen at the Camp:+ T8 T& X! h5 I. w% ~
9 X/ P5 ^2 i8 t6 H; |/ Q
1. The Camp will host up to 1000 students ranging from age 8 to age 16, $ ^/ J; U% k1 S" N! ?/ a. I8 A
mostly from Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province, but some from other areas in / W$ l; ?1 S+ M* Y% _, F) l
China. Campers will live in the Camp for 21 days. The camp is planned to be
: p% J! m6 V# c! ~5 E+ I* i1 Vfrom July 17, 2005 through August 6, 2005.# F' u& q% M6 ~6 X
% G! }, O1 w! ]4 ]) l" c: G
2. We invite you from English speaking nations to act as team leaders and ; o1 D' ^) r* p3 |6 d. E, e
tutors for these kids.$ r( I; o+ B) R2 p
$ v0 i9 O j* b3. Tutors will organize and direct kids to learn English language by ; Z! p3 Q/ g% L3 w" l
practicing phonics etc. Tutors will help organize all possible activities . {7 A+ U% i0 N$ E. Y, P; y F% T
like story telling, poetry, discussions of their colleges, and outdoor : j, w4 c }7 W
activities… - I) K2 q* ?" T, p. Q; v* E
( y( C8 o3 F, b6 K+ ^, }# A6 rThe location of the Camp will be a nice hot spring resort in Qingyuan, north
5 q+ p+ X7 d, j; B# hof Guangzhou. The International Culture Exchange Center of the Guangzhou
4 Q2 U/ [2 S& G7 A1 c$ d- `Municipal Government will oversee and advise the camp activities. All : E' r* d; A6 C( k6 B
necessary procedures and measures will be taken to protect the safety of the M8 E/ }% |/ Y, m
camp and the health of the participants.

2 e% z4 l: x9 w6 r# K nWe are now inviting native English speakers such as students from colleges
! _% K* L) X8 x' G" R& opreferably at 3rd and 4th year and graduate level, and teachers or retired * C$ q, ?0 s: P @" Q" a( T7 z
teachers with majors in performing arts, education, language, and other
: }& b9 M4 G* I& n* lhumanities to help us with this event as group leaders and tutors. This is a ) J* U! G" J- A- W0 c8 L# i% W. b
low-budget event, but we will cover expenses of room and board, plus some + M$ l8 q9 `; S: `" S7 t
nominal compensation(includ round-trip transportation, local
$ l# u* M+ R9 j4 u* i1 M6 otransportation,etc).
