Wanted: College sophomores, seniors, graduate students, teachers, and 5 Q+ `& k$ Q M+ S! s. L0 k) t
retired teachers who are native English speakers. Teachers, college students # O( E3 L/ I" i9 `1 V. }4 J
already in China are also welcomed. Preferably with background in education,

! W2 [/ x7 `0 m6 T4 e5 e1 S) s# [What You Need To do: Lead English Camp in China* A7 x/ D# |' @& k, G- F; U6 ]
What You Get: Stipend, room and board, transportation.4 `9 p/ o$ L8 [& Q" z
& ~# a, S m |6 oWe are organizing an innovative activity for kids in China: a large-scale 5 U& b9 }0 G( ]" w
summer camp for learning English using phonics. Here is summary of what is " u: M& {+ M. [3 C
going to happen at the Camp:
, `6 B8 Q" o& r6 w/ L+ Y. J) r2 s, C) H8 A8 R" \2 @7 N# `2 l
1. The Camp will host up to 1000 students ranging from age 8 to age 16,
; G# u' ]/ L/ C: @! ~mostly from Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province, but some from other areas in + B' T* ?+ p2 d+ j
China. Campers will live in the Camp for 21 days. The camp is planned to be & p# D5 u4 t/ U1 @
from July 17, 2005 through August 6, 2005.! f1 _ N3 }$ a2 [
2 h9 d; E+ U5 Q- T* R2. We invite you from English speaking nations to act as team leaders and . u! R8 g8 D7 j; z4 y# x! O! U
tutors for these kids.
+ V( m2 E* n% I; \. T$ B" \) i+ \5 B# d3 O1 f0 s; `
3. Tutors will organize and direct kids to learn English language by 8 g# ~0 U" C* i9 {
practicing phonics etc. Tutors will help organize all possible activities - h7 u H5 j& @0 U$ a
like story telling, poetry, discussions of their colleges, and outdoor
+ _' ~$ _; ?4 Y+ ?/ ?$ E2 eactivities… 3 p" o+ A6 ^, H$ R- B
6 D9 I3 P$ n: ]8 M& DThe location of the Camp will be a nice hot spring resort in Qingyuan, north
9 A, U8 F1 a( o; Y4 Eof Guangzhou. The International Culture Exchange Center of the Guangzhou
0 {9 a- G7 B9 N* k; VMunicipal Government will oversee and advise the camp activities. All * \. o. B2 n! b5 s
necessary procedures and measures will be taken to protect the safety of the ( Z1 |! U, ~1 `# ?; D6 ~" ~
camp and the health of the participants.

: u1 L# i: _2 v7 b7 Ipreferably at 3rd and 4th year and graduate level, and teachers or retired
% j; T$ K3 j4 w+ Y! _teachers with majors in performing arts, education, language, and other . c; O* s4 j1 }5 a9 `( v- f- Q9 G
humanities to help us with this event as group leaders and tutors. This is a

nominal compensation(includ round-trip transportation, local
