Tutors wanted for an English Summer Camp in Guangzhou, |9 h" h' v' i# H$ |: Y, F8 u1 c
$ b) V: a4 |9 q7 [Wanted: College sophomores, seniors, graduate students, teachers, and
! h. i# X" m$ o/ nretired teachers who are native English speakers. Teachers, college students 1 F! ]) |5 }8 i! d# K
already in China are also welcomed. Preferably with background in education,
; R% ?& M7 ?7 |) V; glanguage, literature, etc.
% ?& _* ^: F# z- M6 UWhat You Need To do: Lead English Camp in China
( z/ s8 e6 c# @; X$ J; Z7 H2 LWhat You Get: Stipend, room and board, transportation.

, C% \7 m8 |3 a+ GWe are organizing an innovative activity for kids in China: a large-scale
/ N( z( i' E1 S! lsummer camp for learning English using phonics. Here is summary of what is ' F; W3 n6 D: ~: b* S
going to happen at the Camp:! }: n& L/ q: E$ T0 O7 \
$ u- e' R! W' b3 o; O' F% ~0 K. Q
1. The Camp will host up to 1000 students ranging from age 8 to age 16, + g- a6 o; }2 Q" N; U4 \5 R
mostly from Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province, but some from other areas in
8 |7 z# k7 Y, B5 O3 i, JChina. Campers will live in the Camp for 21 days. The camp is planned to be * Q ^' A( L" g& f, ~* l
from July 17, 2005 through August 6, 2005.
; K! Q( f7 X* V, d% Q5 ?" C% N" h5 J& n# P+ x7 M
2. We invite you from English speaking nations to act as team leaders and ) j6 T, f+ C/ I
tutors for these kids.- A5 U% H1 I; j6 J2 u( W( I2 K1 t

3. Tutors will organize and direct kids to learn English language by ( E! l! \: u' Y" r5 W( f( n
practicing phonics etc. Tutors will help organize all possible activities ! Y3 B- Z; ~2 J: N' U+ z8 A. A/ T& J
like story telling, poetry, discussions of their colleges, and outdoor

0 q1 M% b0 l( d; _The location of the Camp will be a nice hot spring resort in Qingyuan, north
4 z! h4 T. h. N- Wof Guangzhou. The International Culture Exchange Center of the Guangzhou & x3 L- J* z; S4 T% ~
Municipal Government will oversee and advise the camp activities. All
& O5 e. T% E) q6 Q% C4 Rnecessary procedures and measures will be taken to protect the safety of the + S: E9 U( I1 b) V
camp and the health of the participants.0 C/ }7 q8 ~; N! s+ x$ t
! ?# ^ `2 p2 ?We are now inviting native English speakers such as students from colleges
5 x( l& j4 q/ z- B+ l. wpreferably at 3rd and 4th year and graduate level, and teachers or retired
4 K; S& ^- j8 P4 eteachers with majors in performing arts, education, language, and other 1 ?: |3 R5 E4 F4 m) a5 E
humanities to help us with this event as group leaders and tutors. This is a & c( H% U- W8 h
low-budget event, but we will cover expenses of room and board, plus some 1 r0 U/ Y8 ]# @5 `! L
nominal compensation(includ round-trip transportation, local / a( q/ D8 D8 N3 p1 g. A, a
