Tutors wanted for an English Summer Camp in Guangzhou0 \2 [) M' p0 g- @4 k' q6 F, Y7 g v. O
/ x! t+ }" D3 n( j: b; A$ T* K lWanted: College sophomores, seniors, graduate students, teachers, and
7 H y$ ]3 Q& q6 N; Eretired teachers who are native English speakers. Teachers, college students 2 y9 }9 Y' j# r! i
already in China are also welcomed. Preferably with background in education,

What You Need To do: Lead English Camp in China+ j" b6 g; `$ k2 [2 F. V& p
What You Get: Stipend, room and board, transportation.

2 P8 b% G% T5 YWe are organizing an innovative activity for kids in China: a large-scale
& \& L/ N9 \0 T# x$ `) ssummer camp for learning English using phonics. Here is summary of what is
' P9 e* A7 _$ S& v+ ~7 j; q* ^" tgoing to happen at the Camp:
; q+ g8 X0 p3 E# [4 r9 }! _9 ?6 ?8 j( s
1. The Camp will host up to 1000 students ranging from age 8 to age 16,
4 S3 S1 W# k) qmostly from Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province, but some from other areas in
0 a3 ~3 |3 S/ g% T' c" qChina. Campers will live in the Camp for 21 days. The camp is planned to be 1 p3 ]. u/ P8 W; }0 h* N# I
from July 17, 2005 through August 6, 2005.& [4 S5 |6 b# c5 K; v
8 b. y, ^! i: t7 ?& ]( d: G9 I2. We invite you from English speaking nations to act as team leaders and 0 @$ V# d. F4 z$ Y9 c6 g
tutors for these kids.

3. Tutors will organize and direct kids to learn English language by
0 {& |' M6 `: j* ^( Xpracticing phonics etc. Tutors will help organize all possible activities
n6 `0 c" I* J) e9 D6 Qlike story telling, poetry, discussions of their colleges, and outdoor ! L1 d4 P; X# A9 U% a5 z: t

. R9 {# e) m& _ KThe location of the Camp will be a nice hot spring resort in Qingyuan, north
( r- f0 o( C% Gof Guangzhou. The International Culture Exchange Center of the Guangzhou 8 A* D/ i- P) `5 _: f6 R' ^6 J
Municipal Government will oversee and advise the camp activities. All
v- K' B% d9 @1 H& z# snecessary procedures and measures will be taken to protect the safety of the * V1 i+ P ?3 N; m3 C" \
camp and the health of the participants.
/ E5 J: c4 [9 d9 z0 _' Z# } c" X9 m1 O4 h& q
We are now inviting native English speakers such as students from colleges
/ k6 g# I) T5 W; Ypreferably at 3rd and 4th year and graduate level, and teachers or retired
0 T! I& A% z! ~, y# |teachers with majors in performing arts, education, language, and other
% _; j3 S7 }! Zhumanities to help us with this event as group leaders and tutors. This is a ( h" N8 m9 f, d
low-budget event, but we will cover expenses of room and board, plus some
0 g" u1 Y$ `! E5 u2 `0 X# vnominal compensation(includ round-trip transportation, local
# g( \- ]2 o6 J7 q9 X5 c% ttransportation,etc).
