Wanted: College sophomores, seniors, graduate students, teachers, and
& C3 x" T' a+ ~! a. D8 }retired teachers who are native English speakers. Teachers, college students

What You Get: Stipend, room and board, transportation.

We are organizing an innovative activity for kids in China: a large-scale
2 \- b, x6 H; Q& V3 x3 Fsummer camp for learning English using phonics. Here is summary of what is * A! X S8 Y* x3 G' G+ X
going to happen at the Camp:( h& O8 R% i) @: y! O
( c% L* U/ }; |2 B9 l1. The Camp will host up to 1000 students ranging from age 8 to age 16, " C$ u# d! i2 h
mostly from Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province, but some from other areas in
! s, k# d% F+ m$ F8 }( e! V! MChina. Campers will live in the Camp for 21 days. The camp is planned to be $ h' V# ?4 ^! Y6 T6 T
from July 17, 2005 through August 6, 2005.

2. We invite you from English speaking nations to act as team leaders and
7 Z' i3 s5 P4 n4 ] `2 o- Ytutors for these kids.

* l0 U3 {) g3 m6 p% n6 K3. Tutors will organize and direct kids to learn English language by 1 k3 L4 l! e( s; I, r. i5 K' J/ ]: c3 k
practicing phonics etc. Tutors will help organize all possible activities + _- y8 w+ u$ ]8 U& I9 Y% k
like story telling, poetry, discussions of their colleges, and outdoor

The location of the Camp will be a nice hot spring resort in Qingyuan, north
y) T# G3 j" d! [of Guangzhou. The International Culture Exchange Center of the Guangzhou
4 `3 B5 x( b5 d B" nMunicipal Government will oversee and advise the camp activities. All % W9 ^& G7 L1 S
necessary procedures and measures will be taken to protect the safety of the 1 J1 L2 N, j! v4 t+ B
camp and the health of the participants.

# T$ A- z$ I: F* r' t1 Y. ~* W6 t3 WWe are now inviting native English speakers such as students from colleges
2 M9 L9 M6 F! p: Epreferably at 3rd and 4th year and graduate level, and teachers or retired
6 q6 @' u) r' _; f c2 dteachers with majors in performing arts, education, language, and other * u; r( h8 a% J" e$ S
humanities to help us with this event as group leaders and tutors. This is a 3 p) Q% G" P6 Q, R, N+ L) H; ~4 _
low-budget event, but we will cover expenses of room and board, plus some ! d* {+ d8 s$ p
nominal compensation(includ round-trip transportation, local
S, v; t- t2 | p! I! S! Gtransportation,etc).
