Wanted: College sophomores, seniors, graduate students, teachers, and
0 n6 B: W$ s. |retired teachers who are native English speakers. Teachers, college students - i1 I% f- ~- @! l" B3 g, I
already in China are also welcomed. Preferably with background in education, & J" _) s' B. S; g2 b% K8 @
language, literature, etc.

What You Get: Stipend, room and board, transportation.( Y* _% h0 ^" d' r( s% E F
! {$ f3 V5 O7 w. qWe are organizing an innovative activity for kids in China: a large-scale 3 k6 }( c. M/ P3 ~
summer camp for learning English using phonics. Here is summary of what is

9 R* @/ _% M3 Y4 U# d' Y1. The Camp will host up to 1000 students ranging from age 8 to age 16,
/ x0 X! W& j! p- t; U1 n2 {5 y- ^5 Vmostly from Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province, but some from other areas in
: l. \! D7 N. jChina. Campers will live in the Camp for 21 days. The camp is planned to be 5 f' y, o; K! W8 }5 P8 Q
from July 17, 2005 through August 6, 2005.

2. We invite you from English speaking nations to act as team leaders and ( @# a" s' Z4 I4 G- t- v- _# M
tutors for these kids. R# a k$ y5 |6 n7 o0 _( Y
& f" A! d( h" L( i% L h. _3. Tutors will organize and direct kids to learn English language by
" f5 B* q( z/ ?8 ]) r& `. y3 opracticing phonics etc. Tutors will help organize all possible activities

! j7 Z' ]2 Y5 q0 h9 `3 L. ~0 iThe location of the Camp will be a nice hot spring resort in Qingyuan, north
/ ]+ Q7 ~1 H4 c% p9 nof Guangzhou. The International Culture Exchange Center of the Guangzhou # p3 y h% D' v) ~, U# U, X6 n
Municipal Government will oversee and advise the camp activities. All 5 y/ m* A2 G0 r( d8 q+ |+ U3 }
necessary procedures and measures will be taken to protect the safety of the / v! q l+ p+ ^, |: T4 k
camp and the health of the participants.* c3 ]4 O' `8 V: S2 i4 x

We are now inviting native English speakers such as students from colleges
7 w2 k& Y( ?; U0 s8 Epreferably at 3rd and 4th year and graduate level, and teachers or retired # P: m: T2 K7 f5 i' J! `
teachers with majors in performing arts, education, language, and other ) }/ I6 @( ~! R0 v
humanities to help us with this event as group leaders and tutors. This is a 0 O' M" g' l$ `: ?
low-budget event, but we will cover expenses of room and board, plus some ! ?. V8 ~, X* d. T. l. h
nominal compensation(includ round-trip transportation, local
